I was one of the students involved in the pilot scheme of Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) at Queen Mary for Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Alongside other Peer Leaders, I attended, co-created and delivered bi-weekly sessions to Year 2 students to enhance their engagement with the Pharmaceutical Chemistry module via effectively coaching them to answer example exam questions. A key aim of the PLTL scheme was to aid and support students in learning content, rather than conventional teaching - an approach that can lead to students feeling disengaged, especially with online teaching due to the pandemic. This pilot scheme and my work received overwhelmingly positive feedback from her group of students stating that these sessions were enjoyable, engaging and most importantly essential in strengthening knowledge of content within the module.
