Biochemistry

The Biochemistry Department at the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences aims to understand the structural and dynamic properties of living systems on scales from molecules to cells.

Teaching

The Biochemistry department is responsible for the delivery of the Biochemistry BSc and MSci degree programmes. In addition, we make major contributions to the Biomedical Sciences BSc degree programme, the Queen Mary/Nanchang joint degree in Biomedical Sciences, the Bioinformatics MSc programme and the Science and Engineering Foundation Programme.

The fourth year of the MSci programme focuses on a research project, during which students begin to evolve into research scientists and become part of the research community at SBCS.
