The School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (SBCS) at Queen Mary has been awarded a share of the 24 PhD studentships per year for five years funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). Queen Mary is a leading part of the London NERC DTP Consortium which heard on 4th November that its bid for studentship funding had been successful. NERC have pledged £100m of investment to support 15 Doctoral Training Partnerships.
As a key member of the London NERC Doctoral Training Partnership, Queen Mary University of London will offer PhD training in specialist environmental sciences in collaboration with higher education institutions and partners including Microsoft, the Institute of Zoology, the Natural History Museum, Royal Botanic Gardens and the Forestry Commission.
PhD students will benefit from the outstanding multidisciplinary expertise and cutting-edge research within the School to further Queen Marys University of London’s contribution to environmental science and industry.
