An interview with SBCS geneticist Dr Brendan Curran was featured by the BBC, Channel4, The Independent and other media channels this week, following news that the Food Standards Authority (FSA) is investigating a British dairy farmer for allegedly selling milk from a cloned cow to UK supermarkets. If proven, these sales could infringe EU laws, which impose tight regulations on the marketing of products from cloned animals. Dr Curran - who has written widely on the implications of cloning - said that from a health perspective, there should be no problem with the milk as long as it has not been produced by an animal with deformities.
