My work integrates psychological theories with social policy models to explore how forgiveness can serve as a tool for healing in societies marked by political and socioeconomic trauma. I argue through a case study approach that forgiveness offers substantial physical and psychological health benefits. I am investigating how individuals who engage in forgiveness often experience reduced stress, anger, and resentment—emotions known to negatively impact physical health. Forgiveness has been linked to lower risks of heart disease, improved sleep and cholesterol levels, as well as reduced blood pressure and pain. Psychologically, forgiveness enhances emotional well-being, contributing to lower levels of anxiety, depression, and hostility. My research findings support the view that forgiveness not only promotes individual resilience and stability but also helps people better navigate interpersonal conflicts and trauma, which is vital for social cohesion and long-term recovery.Postgraduate TeachingPsychology MSc Conversion PSY726P - Social Psychology Research
