Profile

My role concentrates in providing comprehensive technical support for the structured research projects in the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences, as well as laboratory-based support and constructive feedback to students during their practical session.

· Lead on structured research projects support for 3rd year undergraduate students in SBBS

• Day-to-day operational management of the Biology Teaching Laboratories, leading on assigned laboratories/activities

· Provide technical support to academics regarding practical development

• Provide expert advice, training and troubleshooting services to all users of the teaching laboratories

• Act as Deputy on Biology and admin related matters to the Teaching Technical Manager (TTM) in their absence and provide an escalation point in the teaching labs for any issues raised by the Teaching Technicians

• Contribute to the development of high-quality undergraduate biology/biomedical sciences programs by providing expert technical advice to academic staff

• Support School activities relating to outreach, recruitment and retention of students including attendance at Open Days, Taster Days, Summer Schools and Outreach Sessions as required

• Support the TTM in promoting Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF) in the teaching labs
