Sleep and emotion recognition are closely linked, and impaired sleep affects emotion recognition and processing which may lead to difficulties in social interaction. Previous studies have examined the relationship between sleep and emotion recognition using pre-established stimulus sets of emotional facial expressions resulting in conflicting findings. The stereotypical facial expressions may not be suitable for different participants, given substantial individual differences. This project aims to investigate how sleep patterns are associated with emotion recognition using the newly developed GA toolkit to allow for individual differences.
