The School of Business and Management (SBM) is proud to announce the launch of its new Master’s programme, MA in Heritage Management with Historic Royal Palaces starting in September 2018:
Heritage matters more today than ever before. Through understanding how the past has shaped what might be the future it becomes increasingly necessary to understand the management of our heritage. This new and authentic partnership between Queen Mary University of London and Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) will deliver an MA in Heritage Management that provides students with a sound foundation in critical analysis as well as the professional values, skills and experiences that are rooted in making HRP distinctive and successful. Designed to help future heritage sector leaders address the managerial, intellectual, cultural, social and technical challenges of maintaining and sharing heritage sites; this programme will provide a deep understanding of the history, theory, practice and practicalities of heritage management.
HRP wants to make careers in our sector more accessible to people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities to help bring our palaces and stories to a broader demographic and make them accessible and relevant for all. In order to achieve this, HRP is pleased to support two scholarships for students from BAME groups to study part time on the new MA in Heritage Management, jointly established with Queen Mary’s University London, during the 2018/19 and 2019/20 academic years.
The scholarships will cover fees and a living allowance of £11,681 per annum.
For the duration of the MA, and alongside the course, those holding the scholarships will work part time within the Curators’ team at Historic Royal Palaces for an additional two days a week.

Further details of how to apply for the scholarships will be sent to applicants in June 2018. The deadline for applications will be Friday 6th July at 12 noon.
