The School of Business and Management (SBM) celebrated being awarded Athena Swan Bronze on Thursday 25 October 2018. The Athena Swan Charter was launched in June 2005. It recognises good practices in recruiting, retaining and promoting women. Originally, it was aimed at addressing gender imbalance wirhin science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine subjects. In 2015, this was expanded to include the arts, humanities, social science, business and law.
Congratulations to all involved in obtaining this recognition . SBM is now one of only seven business schools to have this award. As Dr Fadi Safieddine, Accreditation Manager who led on the application says:
"Athena Swan recognises our advancement of gender equality by means of representation, progress and success for all. It fits in with the SBM vision and mission. I would like to thank everybody for making this possible."
