The School of Business and Management aspires to be a world-leading, research-intensive school focused on using social science for social change and known for the quality of its research, engagement and impact.
Our vision is for the School’s research to promote social justice, sustainability and good governance in the management of private, public and voluntary organisations through our research and education. We aim to conduct high quality, cutting-edge empirical and theoretical, contemporary and historical research that bridges disciplinary and methodological boundaries and addresses the most challenging and pressing issues in business and society.
We aim to participate in and influence evidence-informed academic and policy-making conversations on topical, complex and difficult social, economic, cultural or environmental challenges nationally, and internationally, and in our local East London setting in order to achieve social impact from our academic work. The School seeks to sustain and enhance a distinctive research profile and ensure a supportive and intellectually challenging business and management research culture. Through our vibrant and enabling research environment, we aim to build research capacity in the business and management academic community both within and beyond our School/Queen Mary University of London. We also aim to be an inclusive and diverse research community through our commitment to social justice.
