She holds a PhD in management from Aarhus University, and a double master’s degree in public management and social development from Copenhagen Business School and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Ting’s research investigates leadership, diversity, and team dynamics. In one line of research, she focuses on strategic leadership in public organizations. Specifically, she reviews research on top managers in public organizations, and examines the effect of executive succession and the causes of top management team diversity. In the second line of research, she explores the consequences of representative bureaucracy and diversity on social outcomes from three perspectives, including the government, citizens, and their relations. Her research has been published in leading journals in public management, including Public Administration Review, International Public Management Journal. She serves as a referee for top journals and conferences in the field of public administration and management, including Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration, International Public Management Journal, International Journal of Public Administration, Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. She received the Best Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, PNP Division. She co-organized different workshops with Anders Villadsen at Sino-Danish Center, including workshops on leadership in public management, using ASReview for systematic literature reviews. She was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 8th e-HRM International Conference.
