Profile

Giulia Zanini is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Queen Mary University in the Wellcome Trust funded project Remaking the Human Body led by Dr Manuela Perrotta. She obtained a PhD in Social and Political Sciences at the European University Institute (EUI) with a dissertation entitled “Transnational Reproduction: Experiences of Italian Reproductive Travellers Receiving Donor Gametes and Embryos Abroad”. She has then received a Piscopia- Marie Curie Fellowship and worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Padua (Italy), the University of the Aegean (Greece) and the University of Barcelona (Spain). Her research interests include family and kinship, reproductive and sexual health, reproductive technologies, conception and abortion travels, religion, gender, family and health policies and citizenship.
