FAQs - After you receive a decision

FAQs - After you receive a decision

My application was unsuccessful, can I know the reason why?

We are sorry that your application was unsuccessful. You can find the reason why your application was unsuccessful on the Application Portal.

I have received an offer, what should I do next?

Congratulations! Please read your offer letter carefully and if there is anything you don’t understand, please contact the Admissions team through the Application Portal. You will then have to decide whether or not you wish to accept the offer from Queen Mary.

I would like to defer my place, how do I do that?

You will have to get in touch with the Admissions team through the Application Portal stating that you would like to defer your place. The deferral is usually granted for a year, but you will still have to meet all the conditions of your offer in order to secure your place on the course.

Please be aware that your offer will be rescinded and you will have to apply again if you wish to defer for the third time.

Do I have to pay a deposit to secure my place?

Postgraduate home and overseas students will need to either pay a deposit, or inform us that they will be applying for the UK postgraduate loan through the Applicant Portal, ahead of our deposit deadlines.

My fee status is incorrect, who do I talk to about this?

Before responding to your offer, please read all the information thoroughly – if your fee status is incorrect, please contact the Admissions team, with details of the error.

Your fee status must be corrected before enrolment in order for the correct fee to be reflected in your invoice. Further information and guidance can be found on the Fee status assessment page.

How do I enrol?

You will receive an email with your login details and enrolment instructions. After you have fully or temporarily enrolled, you will receive an email inviting you to collect your Student ID card during an allocated time slot. Please contact studentenquiry@qmul.ac.uk if you have any questions.

Where can I find help with my career?

We have a dedicated and world-class Careers and Enterprise team who will provide information, advice and guidance on various aspects from choosing a career, to finding work experience and starting your own business.

When will I receive my timetable?

You will receive your timetable 2-3 weeks before your semester starts.

Am I able to find out the contact hours per week for my course?

Contact hours differ between courses, please email sbmenquiries@qmul.ac.uk and we will get back to you with more information.
