FAQs - After you receive a decision

My application was unsuccessful, can I know the reason why?

We are sorry that your application was unsuccessful. You can find the reason why your application was unsuccessful through MySIS.

I have received an offer, what should I do next?

Congratulations! Please read your offer letter carefully. This will be sent to you via email.

You will then have to decide whether or not you wish to accept the offer from Queen Mary. The UCAS system will allow you to respond to your offer with the following choices:

  • Firm
  • Insurance
  • Decline

You will be able to view the deadline to accept on UCAS Track. Detailed explanation of how to respond can be found on the UCAS website.

I would like to defer my place, how do I do that?

You will need to get in touch with the Admissions team through MySIS or by emailing SBMUGAdm@qmul.ac.uk, stating that you would like to defer your place. The deferral is usually granted for a year but you will still need to meet all of the conditions of your offer, in order to secure your place on the course the following year.

Do I have to pay a deposit to secure my place?

No, a deposit is not required to secure your place for an undergraduate programme.

My fee status is incorrect, who do I talk to about this?

Before responding to your offer, please read all the information thoroughly – if your fee status is incorrect, please contact the Admissions team as soon as possible, outlining the issue you are experiencing.

Your fee status must be corrected before enrolment in order for the correct fee to be reflected in your invoice. Further information and guidance can be found on the fee status assessment page.

How do I enrol?

You will receive an email with your login details and enrolment instructions. After you have fully or temporarily enrolled, you will receive an email inviting you to collect your Student ID card during an allocated time slot. Full guidance on the enrolment process is available online, including a timeline of the process. Please contact sbm-engagement@qmul.ac.uk if you have any further questions.
