*Please note that Business Management with Chinese and Year Abroad is not open to students who are fluent in Chinese (Mandarin). Native and proficient speakers encouraged to apply for BSc Business Management.
What are the entry requirements for the new programmes?
We accept a wide range of qualifications and the following information should be read in conjunction with the information for each course:
**For Business Management with Chinese and Year Abroad, A-levels must exclude Chinese, Mandarin, General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Mathematics.
Applicants with B2 level (GCSE level) in Chinese will be considered.

Are there additional assessments for Business Management with Chinese and Year Abroad?
Applicants for Business Management with Chinese and Year Abroad will be assessed on their Language proficiency in week 0 of the course and will be assigned the appropriate language mods. Those whose proficiency is too advanced will be offered a change of course to the BSc Business Management route.
How long are the programmes with Year Abroad?
Four years. You will have the opportunity to spend a year abroad at one of our prestigious international partner universities, where you will benefit from the exposure to different cultural settings and immerse yourself in some of the world’s most exciting business backdrops.

When can I go?
You will spend a full academic year during year three of your studies.
What programmes do you offer at the School of Business and Management?
The School offers a range of courses under Accounting, Business Management and Marketing subject areas along with joint-programmes in collaboration with other Schools in the University. How do I apply?
You will need to submit an application through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). For more information please visit the UCAS website, or if you are an international student, please see the UCAS guide on how to apply.
When should I apply?
You can now submit your application for programmes starting in 2021. For details of the exact time of these UCAS deadlines, see UCAS guidance on when to apply.
Can I apply for more than one course at QMUL and how do I do this?
Yes, you can. However, we would highly advise you to apply for similar courses as your personal statement will need to address all the courses you choose.
Do you interview your students?
We don’t conduct interviews for any of our courses.
What should I include in my personal statement and can you check this before I submit?
Your personal statement is an important component of your application and it is your opportunity to introduce yourself to QMUL. We cannot provide feedback or advice on any drafts sent to us.
Please make sure that you read through your personal statement carefully and have a fresh pair of eyes to go over this and ask for feedback.
UCAS has plenty of useful guidance available on writing your personal statement, if needed.
Do I need to have studied any particular A-level subjects?
We accept all A-level courses excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking and General use of Mathematics. Please check the specific entry requirements on the course page.
Do you accept mature students and can I still use UCAS to apply?
If you are a mature student with no formal qualifications appropriate to the degree you wish to study, you are required to pass an Access to HE Diploma in Business. For more detailed entry requirements for mature students please visit our entry requirements page for more information.
Are there any Scholarships available?
There are a number of scholarships and bursaries available at Queen Mary. Please note that eligibility criteria applies and if you are successful, the scholarship cannot be deferred.

How long does it take for QMUL to make a decision?
If you submit your application before the UCAS deadline (31 January 2021 for September 2021 entry), you will receive the decision by 31 May 2021 at the very latest.
You will be notified of the decision through UCAS Track or MySIS with the full details.
I need help with my application, who should I contact?
We will do our best to provide guidance on how to apply, but we may not be able to advise you on some of the UCAS processes, so we encourage you to get in touch with either a UCAS Advisor or your College/School or parents/guardian.
Can my parents/guardian check on the progress of my application?
We can only discuss your application with you, unless you provide a written consent that another person can do so. You can also nominate a proxy on your UCAS application.
How do I apply for accommodation?
After you receive an offer – either conditional or unconditional, you will be able to apply for accommodation online. You can find the eligibility criteria, deadline and further guideline on the accommodation page.
My login details for MySIS aren’t working, who should I contact?

How do I update my contact details?
You can update your details on UCAS Track – the system will then send us an update within 24 hours.
My application was unsuccessful, can I know the reason why?
We are sorry that your application was unsuccessful. You can find the reason why your application was unsuccessful through MySIS.
I have received an offer, what should I do next?
Congratulations! Please read your offer letter carefully sent to you via email.
You will then have to decide whether or not you wish to accept the offer from QMUL. The UCAS system will allow you to respond to your offer with the following choices:
You will be able to view the deadline to accept on UCAS Track. The detailed explanation of the responses can be found on the UCAS website.
I would like to defer my place, how do I do that?
You will have to get in touch with the Admissions team through MySIS or SBMUGAdm@qmul.ac.uk stating that you would like to defer your place. The deferral is usually granted for a year but you will still have to meet all the conditions of your offer in order to secure your place on the course.
Do I have to pay deposit to secure my place?
No, a deposit is not required to secure your place for an undergraduate programme.
My fee status is incorrect, who do I talk to about this?
Before responding to your offer, please read all the information thoroughly – if your fee status is incorrect, please contact the Admissions team explaining why.
Your fee status must be corrected before enrolment in order for the correct fee to be reflected in your invoice. Further information and guidance can be found on the Fee Status Assessment page.
How do I enrol?
You will receive an email with your login details and enrolment instructions. After you have fully or temporarily enrolled, you will receive an email inviting you to collect your Student ID card during an allocated time slot. Please contact studentenquiry@qmul.ac.uk if you have any questions.
