Queen Mary University of London is delighted to be working with the Fulbright Commission to support a Fulbright-Queen Mary Scholar Award as part of the prestigious Fulbright Awards Programme.
The Fulbright Commission, founded on 22 September 1948, aims to foster mutual cultural understanding through educational exchange between the US and the UK. Awards span every discipline, and the scheme is now one of the most prestigious awards programmes world-wide operating in over 160 countries, with 390,000 alumni.
As one of the Fulbright Commission’s university partners, Queen Mary is committed to promoting these aims, which form an important part of our international outlook.
Fulbright Scholar Awards offer postdoctoral, academic and professional opportunities to research and/or lecture at recognised UK higher education institutions, as part of a transformative cultural experience.
The award will be offered to a US academic scholar to pursue research and/or lecture for a 3-to-9-month period at Queen Mary in any subject in the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences or the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry. Programmes within the Faculty of Science and Engineering are not eligible.
Award holders will receive a £3,000 per month grant. This funding is intended as a contribution towards US-UK travel, institutional fees, accommodation, and general maintenance costs while in the UK.
This award is open to all levels of scholars, including early career, mid-career or senior academics. Minimum eligibility for the award will be:
As the aim is to foster cultural understanding between the US and the UK, preference will be given to applicants who do not have extensive experience in the UK.
