The Queen Mary Centre for Religion and Literature in English
Welcome to the Queen Mary Centre for Religion and Literature in English, a collaboration between the School of English and Drama and the School of History at Queen Mary University of London.
The Centre is an association of individuals, societies, centres, and projects with a shared commitment to the broad subject of religion and literature in English.
Our focus is on the history of Roman Catholicism, the Church of England, Protestant dissent, Methodism, and Judaism.
The Centre’s logo, an image of the seven candlesticks representing the seven churches of Asia (Revelation 1:20), is taken from the title page of Richard Bernard, A Key of Knowledge for the Opening of the Secret Mysteries of St Iohns Mysticall Revelation (1617), reproduced by permission of The University of Manchester Library.
