The School of Economics and Finance invites students to participate in an FTP Financial Markets and Trading Programme that has been designed to provide insight and knowledge into areas of financial markets that are relevant to students’ studies and future careers. Dr David Norman, who currently runs the Postgraduate Finance Trading Programme (FTP), will be presenting the Undergraduate programme along with Greg Amoils, a seasoned stock and derivatives trader. Between them, they have over 40-years of financial markets and trading experience.
The objective of the programme is to provide students with the knowledge and practical user experience of financial informational and trading technology and to explain how the financial markets work. Each student should attend ONE class per module. During each class, there will be a blend of lecture presentation and practical use of Bloomberg and the trading software. There will be a quiz at the end of the course on QM+ to check understanding and, upon passing the quiz with a 60% pass mark, to enable them to gain the certificate for successfully passing the programme.
Completion of the programme will be registered on your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) which keeps an accurate record of your achievements while in Higher Education. By the end of Year 3, you will have a Graduate Certificate detailing your award from Queen Mary University and the School of Economics and Finance.
