The 2nd edition of the Department of Film’s brand new World Cinema Conversations Seminar Series navigates contemporary developments in Russian cinema. Against the backdrop of Russian politics, society and culture, this conversation appraises the emergence of a new era of boundary-pushing Russian cinema that can simultaneously align with and subvert official state policy.

Guest Speaker: Dr. Vlad Strukov, author of Contemporary Russian Cinema: Symbols of a New Era, Associate Professor in Film and Digital Culture, University of Leeds, will introduce the film screening and lead the post-screening Q&A discussion.
