Gaza Remains the Story: An exhibition of new posters from the Palestinian Museum focusing on the people and places of Gaza, the heritage and history of Palestine, and the impact of, and struggle against, occupation and colonisation.
A space of education and reflection.
More information about the exhibition:
Gaza Remains the Story uses posters and photographs to exhibit the cause and context of the Palestinian experience, focusing on the land, places, and people of Gaza. The exhibition strives to inform, educate, and narrate stories of historical locations and cultural practices in Gaza, providing a glimpse into Gaza’s arts, aspirations, and uniqueness—what remains of it in these harsh times. The exhibition strives to look behind the curtains of the theatre of war and conquest. By narrating the stories of Gaza and countering misinformation, Gaza Remains The Story aims to provide a global audience with information and references to contextualise Gaza within Palestine, the region, and the world. This exhibition employs text, drawings, and audiovisual material to explore historical, economic, geographic, demographic, and creative aspects of life in Gaza.
Events on Thursday 20 March
12:00 PM Exhibition opens please drop by for events happening through the day 3:00 –4:00 PM: Screening of short films including The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing (T. Panagopolous, 17 mins, 2024)
When a Palestinian filmmaker based in Scotland unearths a rarely-seen Scottish film archive of Palestinian wild flowers, he decides to reclaim the footage. This tender film essay questions the role of image-making as a tool of both testimony and violence when connected to entanglements between people and the land.

Title: On Silencing, Repression and Persecution: Palestinians in Israel during the Genocide in Gaza
Followed by reception supported by London South Bank University’s ‘Justice, Communities, Activism and Conflict Research Group’
Further information: Alongside the genocidal violence Israel has unleashed in Gaza since October 2023, and the bombardment of and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, Palestinians holding Israeli citizenship have been subjected to unprecedented levels of repression, intimidation and persecution in all spheres of life: vast de-legitimisation campaigns, crackdowns on freedom of speech in social media, police brutality, a blanket ban on protests, disciplinary actions against Palestinian students and staff in Israeli universities and workplaces, and even a ban on the most intimate acts of mourning and loss, of their own people and families in Gaza.
Hassan Jabareen, the founding director of Adalah – the legal centre for Arab minority rights in Israel will discuss these realities of being a Palestinian citizen and human rights advocate in the Israeli state in times of genocide, in conversation with Muna Haddad (QMUL).
About Adalah
Adalah (“Justice” in Arabic) is an independent human rights organization and legal center, founded in November 1996. Adalah’s mission is to promote human rights in Israel in general and the rights of the Palestinian minority, citizens of Israel, in particular (around 1.5 million people, or 20% of the population). This work includes promoting and defending the human rights of all individuals subject to the jurisdiction of the State of Israel (e.g. Palestinian residents of the OPT). Adalah is the first Palestinian Arab-run legal center in Israel, and the sole Palestinian organization that works before Israeli courts to protect the human rights of Palestinians in Israel and in the OPT.
