Profile

Dylan is a Lecturer in the School of the Arts at Queen Mary University of London. He also serves as the research lead on the Pre-Master’s Program. He has a wealth of international experience having spent over 20 years in Asia teaching English. He began this sojourn by teaching young learners and then progressed to the Higher Education sector. In this sector he worked at various universities including working for more than 10 years as a Teaching Professor at Seoul National University.

Teaching

At Queen Mary University of London, Dr. Dylan Glyn Williams teaches on the Master’s in ELT, Pre-Master’s programme, and offers workshops on research writing and presentation skills.

He supervises MA and PhD students and is interested in supervising PhD students in the areas of Higher Education, Language Education, EMI (English Medium Instruction), Multilingualism in Higher Education, Internationalisation in Higher Education, Social Justice in Higher Education and Language Policy in Higher Education.

 

Research

Research Interests:

Dylan is a Higher Education researcher with a special interest in multilingualism and language education. He uses critical sociological perspectives to explore the effect that the interplay between agency and structure has on language use in education. From this, his research interests straddle EMI (English-Medium Instruction), TESOL, Internationalization in Higher Education, Multilingualism in Higher Education, and Social Justice in Higher Education.
