Profile

Sherin has been a Teaching Fellow at Queen Mary since 2002, teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP). She has responsibility for a tutor group on the International Foundation Programme and one-to-one tutorials on the Academic Study Programme - available to all Queen Mary students. Each summer she also teaches on the Presessional Programme, preparing international students for their Masters courses. After working in the business sector, Sherin delivered community Arts workshops. With degree level French and basic Spanish, her interest in teaching English grew whilst she was learning another language herself. She learned Portuguese in Portugal through self study, ultimately offering translating services to a number of academics.-After gaining the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults in Lisbon, she specialised in teaching the Cambridge English exams FCE, CAE and Proficiency at International House in Coimbra for a number of years. She went on to gain the Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults. Sherin's professional development has led to undertaking Postgraduate studies in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics at Kings College London.
