His research specifics include Quebec and Canada, French linguistics, Langauge Policy and Planning, Linguistic Justice, Normative Political Theory and Normative Langauge Policy. In his PhD project, funded by The Leverhulme Trust and supervised by Dr Leigh Oakes (QMUL) & Dr Yael Paled (Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity), Jude is exploring a new approach to language policy in Quebec so as to best serve justice for minority language communities. In combining aspects of applied linguistics and Normative Political Theory, this new approach hopes to tackle issues surrounding linguistic integration for immigrants, policymakers, and educators alike. A similar project is being undertaken with Wales as the subject at Aberystwyth University under a wider umbrella project.
