PhD student, Matthew Hunt, will show how to design and run an online language experiment on the platform Gorilla, a site popular among psycholinguists and psychologists alike. The session will start with a basic question regarding language, before implementing an experimental design on Gorilla to best answer that question. It cover constructing tasks, questionnaires and full experiments on Gorilla, including methods of variable manipulation, randomisationand counterbalancing. Matthew will also discuss Gorilla’s integration with crowdsourcing platforms like Prolific Academic for participant recruitment.
