The Department of Linguistics will be holding its annual Postgraduate Research Afternoon, for Linguistics PhD students in their first year of research. The afternoon provides students at the beginning of their research projects with the opportunity to present an outline of their research to students and staff across the department.
Student presentations last 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for discussion. MA and MRes students in the department are encouraged to attend, particularly those who may be considering starting a PhD themselves.
This year's PGRA will include talks from PhD students Lulu Guo, Sora Yin, Thomas Packer-Stucki, Oddur Snorason, and Inés de la Villa Vecilla.
Following the final student presentation, our guest speaker Stefan Grondalaers will be giving a talk, entitled “Surfing the fourth wave. Social meaning as a rapid diffusion determinant in experiments and tweets.” Further details for this talk can be found on the event page for Guest Speaker Seminar: Stefan Grondalaers.
