New article published in the Journal of Psycholinguistic Research

Published:

QMUL alumna Panpan Yao (now an assistant professor at the School of Psychology, Beijing Language and Culture University), together with QMUL linguists Linnaea Stockall, David Hall and Hagit Borer, have published an article entitled "Processing Evidence for the Grammatical Encoding of the Mass/Count Distinction in Mandarin Chinese", which reports an eye-tracking experiment showing that Chinese speakers very rapidly use word order cues to predict whether an upcoming noun will be mass or count.
