2021 marks the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the German federal state of Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) by the British military government.
To mark this anniversary, a 45-minute documentary entitled Happy Birthday Niedersachsen has been produced by Zentralfilm in Hanover which is presented in German by former Queen Mary graduate Dr. John Goodyear. On 14 December 2021, Queen Mary's School of Languages, Linguistics and Film will be delighted to present a special viewing of the documentary for our students.
Following the documentary viewing alumnus Dr John Goodyear will be hosted by Professor Rüdiger Görner and Ana Ilic from the Department of Modern Languages for a Q&A session on the deocumentary and topic.
This event is open to all students and is free to attend, however of particular interest to those studying the Germany Today module (GER4210).
