Following the successful launch of her new book Catalan Cartoons: A Cultural and Political History (University Wales Press) at QM in February, outgoing Catalan Research Fellow Dr Rhiannon McGlade was invited to present the text at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona in April. The seminar, in which the book itself was discussed along with some of the broader questions it tackles regarding humour and identity and the cultural value of satirical cartoons, was extremely well attended by both UPF staff and members of the public.
The book was also recently reviewed on the Catalan televsion programme ‘Acció Política’ on TV (see here).
