The French department and the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film congratulate Dr Elsa Petit, who was voted Student Rep Champion 2015-16 at an award ceremony held at Draper's Hall on Monday 29th February 2016, as well as Trisha Mason, a French with Business Management second-year student representative, who won the Campaign Award.
Every year, the Queen Mary Students' Union (QMSU) celebrates the contributions of staff and students to improving the Queen Mary learning experience at the Education Awards. The Education Awards include the Course Rep Awards, awarded to Course Reps who have made a huge difference to students and their courses, and the Teaching Awards, awarded to teaching and support staff that have made an outstanding contribution to the student experience.
Elsa was nominated for the Drapers’ Award for excellence in teaching and facilitation of student learning in April 2006 and April 2008, and received the Student Rep Champion award this year. Trisha has been a student rep since her first year and, this year, she won the Campaign Award.
Also shortlisted for this year's awards were two other SLLF colleagues: Dr Laetitia Calabrese from the French Department (Teacher of the year, winner of this prize last year) and Sherin White from the Language Centre (Assessment and Feedback Champion).
