Profile

I work on Iberian and Latin American Studies, across countries, periods and genres, and in a comparative fashion, with a particular interest in contemporary studies; cultural memory; visual culture; dictatorship, conflict and cultural production; subversive humour; discourses of gender and sexuality; children's literature in multicultural contexts; and graphic novels.

I am a member of the editorial board of the Hispanic Research Journal and coordinate the Iberian and Latin American research seminar series in the Dept. of Modern Languages and Cultures.

Current doctoral students supervised with title of their thesis.

PhD co-supervisor, Sara Torres Rodríguez de Castro (QMUL), 'The Lesbian Text: Fantasy, Fetish and Queer Temporalities in Hispanic Contemporary Voices' (September 2016-). Funded by the Principal's studentship.
