Profile
I completed my BA in Modern Languages and Music at the Univeristy of Birmingham in 2022, for which I wrote dissertations on the low level of literary translation in the UK, and the potential for the scope of the history of western European classical music to include the contributions of Al-Andalus between the 8th and 14th centuries.
Having cultivated a deep interest in poetry and creative translation, my PhD project was born from a certain frustration at the difficulty of finding poems by Catalan women to translate. My research is made posisble by the Institut Ramon Llull, through the Balearic Islands Doctoral Studentship.
Outside of my PhD, as an Associate of the Stephen Spender Trust I lead school workshops that bring the adventures of literary translation into the classroom.
