In this talk, I will give a brief explanation of the slow reheating scenario, where the post-inflationary dynamics can be approximated by a quadratic form of the potential. To do this, I will explain the different approaches that have been made to characterize the formation of primordial black holes during this era, with special emphasis on the differences that arise when considering the approximation that the inflaton behaves like nonrelativistic matter and the case in which the wave-like nature of the field is considered. To conclude this presentation, I will discuss the progress I have made regarding simulations of the gravitational collapse of spherical perturbations of the inflaton during the reheating era.
