The Astronomy Unit's Dr Christopher Chen, Senior Lecturer in Space Plasma Physics from the Queen Mary University of London featured on BBC2's programme, Universe: The Sun.
In the programme, Chen discusses the NASA Sun Parker Solar Probe mission, which is the first-ever mission to "touch" the Sun. He said: "There's a real challenge for the spacecraft to survive that environment, so in order to do that, there's a very large heat shield on the front of the spacecraft which protects the majority of the instruments which are sat behind the spacecraft body."
