Profile

Dr Eva Galante is a Lecturer in in Pharmaceutical/Medicinal Chemistry and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

 

Eva has a rich background in biomolecular and medicinal chemistry, combining research excellence with a strong dedication to teaching in higher education (HE). She began her academic journey in Italy at the National Council of Research (CNR), where her innovative research on natural products was awarded “Best National Project” by the Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR) for technological innovation and industrial applications. Her expertise spans anti-tumour vaccine development and nuclear medicine, with notable contributions to projects aimed at diagnosing epilepsy and developing chemotherapeutics for neuroblastoma.

 

Eva has over 10 years of experience teaching in HE, where she prioritizes authentic learning and assessment practices to maximize students’ employability and readiness for the world of work. She integrates practical, real-world applications into her courses, fostering student engagement and deepening understanding through hands-on experiences. Passionate about advancing teaching and learning strategies, she actively explores innovative methods to create meaningful and inclusive learning environments. Her research interests continue to align with her teaching, focusing on medicinal chemistry and natural products, allowing her to bring cutting-edge insights to her students.
