Profile
Dr Maariyah Y Suleman is a Teaching Fellow in Chemistry.
Maariyah obtained her PhD in Chemistry, (Imperial College London), which focussed on the thermal characterisation of ionic liquids. She then researched the use of ionic liquids as sustainable industrial solvents towards recycling poly(ethylene terephthalate) and the continuous extrusion of lignin derived carbon fibres.
Maariyah has a keen interest in HE teaching and educational research. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has completed a PGCert in HE. Her educational research includes developing UG chemistry learning environments which utilise virtual reality.
