Providing peer to peer support is a great way to improve your employability skills. Most of our schemes can also be accredited so this appears on your HEAR, your digital transcript. You’ll also be giving back to your community by sharing your experiences and providing help to other students. Training and support will be provided.
Recruitment for the schemes varies but is usually approximately April – July.
Mentors offer first years something staff members cannot – recent experience of being a first year in the mentees’ own school or department.
Student organisers are the main contact point for all the staff and students involved in PASS. They lead their team to publicise and plan the sessions.
As a returning student, your past experiences and knowledge can be invaluable for new students. As a peer mentor, you will offer guidance, support and practical advice to a group of first year student sin your school.
Help us support students across Queen Mary settle back into university life in their second year. Being a mentor can be a rewarding experience and you’ll be positively impacting others’ wellbeing.
