Profile

Simon is part of the Services strand and provides both educational and developmental support in the effective use of video in teaching, learning and assessment. He provides expert support and advice to academic and professional services staff within QMUL interested in creating diverse materials (videos, screencasts, podcasts, etc.) to support teaching in various modes, be that blended, distance or face-to-face. Simon is the team’s lead for Q-Review (Echo360), QMplus Media (Kaltura), and Teaching Spaces. He also is involved in the use and production of podcasts. 

Simon joined the university in 2017 as a team lead for the teaching space support team, after working many years in various levels of IT and AV support in both the private and public sector. He joined TELT in 2021 bringing his knowledge of Teaching spaces and Q-Review, as well as his in-depth IT support knowledge and skills.    

In his spare time Simon is a keen DIYer, having built his own garden office and is gradually renovating and redecorating all the rooms in his home. When the opportunity arises, he also loves to photograph and video events. He is also a big fan of the animated characters, the Minions.
