Festive Greetings

QMplus Hub upgrade

QMplus Hub will be upgraded on Tuesday 19th December 2023 to version 22.10.0. Existing users will notice some changes to the look and use of certain features, but the upgrade will not change the content of your existing portfolios. We will provide you with further information nearer to the upgrade.

January Welcome Week 2024

As the close of 2023 draws near, it is time for us to commence preparations for the January Welcome Week 2024. During Welcome Week, the Technology Enhanced Learning Team will be providing a limited number of induction sessions. Find out more.

Using Mentimeter with PowerPoint

One of the questions that we are most frequently asked about Mentimeter is ‘does it work with PowerPoint’? In fact, Mentimeter has a number of useful add-ins, including PowerPoint, and the following guide will show you how to get the best out it.

Please note that to request the PowerPoint add-in you must contact the IT service desk for them to add it to your profile.

We are hiring a Learning Technology Officer

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Technology Officer. The post is full time and permanent and the starting salary will be in the range of £38,165 – £44,722 per annum (Grade 4).

TEL Support over the Christmas holidays

The University will be closed from Friday, 22nd December until Tuesday 2nd January.
The Technology Enhanced Learning Team will provide limited support via the ITS Helpdesk over the Christmas period as needed, on the following dates and times:

– Wednesday, 27th December between 2-4pm
– Friday, 29th December between 2-4pm

Staff and students can raise queries via the ITS Helpdesk channels (https://www.its.qmul.ac.uk/) and we will endeavor to assist, on the above dates, via the ITS Helpdesk. More information can be found here.

FAQs

  • Question 1: Help! I’m trying to log into the new CPD Training platform but am being told ‘I do not have a Moodle account.’

Answer 1: The new CPD Training platform is run on a Moodle version NOT managed by TELT. All issues and requests regarding the new CPD Training platform should be directed to HR Systems via the ITS Helpdesk.

  • Question 2: I did not receive my ‘Online surveys’ account setup email.

Answer 2: Please check your ‘Junk’ or ‘Spam’ folder as often the invitation emails will be redirected there.

  • Question 3: Please send me the password for a guest examiners QMplus account.

Answer 3: All guest accounts are created by the ITS Helpdesk, once done TELT will then create the QMplus account. The password for QMplus login will be the same as what the ITS Helpdesk created when the affiliate account was setup.
