Numbas was created at Newcastle University, and been adopted by educators worldwide. It is a free and easy way to create online tests which can be imported to QMplus as a SCORM. Numbas is perfect for maths testing, but can be applied to many different subjects,the questions and answers don’t just have to be numbers, Numbas excels at assessing algebraic expressions and equations. Please note: Although Numbas if available for use it is not recommended to be used for high stake exams, which is also advised by Numbas. This platform is not supported by ITS / TELT.

Follow these stepsto create your first question.
Once you create questions you can add them to an Exam, the concept is similar to adding questions to a QMplus Quiz.
The exams you create in Numbas can be exported as a SCORM package, these SCORMs can then be imported into a QMplus area. This will add a link in your QMplus area and your students will be able to take the exam by clicking on the link. A gradebook column will also be created once you successfully import a Numbas exam where you will be able to see students marks/grades.
Please note that ITS and the Technology Enhanced Learning Team (TELT) do not currently support Numbas, although the tool has been made available for use. If you still have questions please visit the Numbas website and their FAQ page.
