Box of Broadcasts

Published:

Box of Broadcasts logoHave you ever watched something on TV or listened to something on the radio that you would like to use in your teaching? There’s a good chance that you will be able to find this content on BoB, or Box of Broadcasts.

Staff and students at QMUL have access to BoB which provides access to recordings of programmes on free-to-air channels on TV and radio. It enables you to choose and record any broadcast programme from 60+ TV and radio channels. The recorded programmes are then kept indefinitely and added to a growing media archive, with all content shared by users across all subscribing institutions. Even if you didn’t ask for something to be recorded, if someone else did, you will have access to it. The major channels such as the BBC are automatically recorded.

You can:

  • make clips from programmes
  • create playlists of programmes and clips
  • embed programmes or clips into QMplus areas

Students have the same access to BoB as staff, meaning they can also create their own clips and playlists.
