Hi, my name is Jonathan Anegbeh, I am the Learning Technologist, Web & Computer Support Officer in the Computing Team at the School of Physical and Chemical Sciences.
I joined QMUL in 2015 and I like my current role, as I can be creative while also always growing because of the wealth of knowledge my colleagues offer. I get to play with new toys, make unboxing videos ahem, I mean I get to order and set up expensive technology before handing them to the user.
My role encompasses three main areas.
For the delivery of Semester B modules, we have just deployed two instances of a web-based cloud computing and course management platform for computational mathematics - Cocalc - to support the delivery of two modules, SPA4601 Professional Skills for Scientists, and SPA4131 Introduction to Data Science.
I am currently testing the updated CodeRunner. A free open-source question type plugin for QMplus (Moodle) facilitated by the ELU, will enable colleagues to assess program code submitted by students in answer to a wide range of programming type questions.
When I am not trying to keep abreast of new technologies or applications for personal and professional growth, I enjoy playing video games. Destiny 2, a free-to-play online only multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie.
I enjoy reading, mostly manga and manhua these days, but am still a DC and Marvel fan. I also volunteer as a British Judo Association (BJA) Official (Competition Recorder) when on Judo competitions around the UK with my daughters. Sadly, I'm still on a yellow belt.
