Dr Dunja Aksentijevic
The BSCR is a national forum to discuss current issues in cardiovascular research. The affairs of the BSCR are directed by an elected committee of clinical and non-clinical cardiovascular scientists, whose mission is to promote scientific exchange and networking for cardiovascular scientists at all career stages.
The successful nomination and election follows the British Society for Cardiovascular Research/ British Cardiac Society Centenary Meeting (Manchester, June 2022), where Dr Aksentijevic was invited to give a talk on ‘Intracellular sodium elevation and metabolic remodelling in cardiac hypertrophy’.
Dunja Aksentijevic, Wellcome Trust Fellow and Reader in Cardiovascular Physiology and Metabolism at William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London said: “I am delighted and hugely honoured to receive this news and that my colleagues across the country supported my nomination. I am looking forward to contributing to our national society and look forward to promoting cardiovascular research from our Institute, Faculty, and University.”
