Professor of Cardiovascular Genomics at Queen Mary University of London has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to genomic medicine.

We are pleased to announce today that Professor Panos Deloukas has been named among 48 of the UK's world-leading researchers to join the prestigious Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
The new Fellows have been elected for their outstanding contributions to biomedical and health science, leading research discoveries, and translating developments into benefits for patients and the wider society.
This year's elected Fellows have expertise that spans sleep research, infectious and tropical diseases, diabetes medicine, parasite biology and ultrasound research and technology among many other fields.
In response to today's announcement, Professor Panos Deloukas said: "I feel both honoured and proud to have been elected Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. This is a truly stimulating scientific forum and I am looking forward to get exposed to new ideas and contribute to discussions and efforts to advance the field of genomic medicine."

The new Fellows will be formally admitted to the Academy at a ceremony on 27 June 2018.
