Profile

I am a Research Assistant & Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Coordinator at the Research & Action on Salt & Obesity Research Unit at the Centre for the Public Health and Policy.

Following an undergraduate degree in Biology and Education I taught primary and secondary school pupils Science, and Food & Nutrition. Throughout, I examined and explained the impact of food choices on health, and environmental and social ecosystems. The master’s in Food Policy explored the interconnections further and emphasised the importance of integrated food policy to effect change across the food system. A career shift allowed me to focus on influencing change in food choices upstream, through research and project work in charities seeking to improve the nutrition of School Food. This role combines my knowledge of nutrition and research and project management skills and seeks to influence policy and practice to improve health through food.
