Profile

As part of the team at Research Support Service (RSS) based at QMUL, I act as a methods adviser to applicants preparing grants and fellowship awards.  I acted as impact champion at the former RDS London and co-led its research impact special interest group.

My background is in musculoskeletal care and particularly back pain.  My PhD focussed on the use of patient reported outcome measurement (PROMs), and the use of technology to facilitate PROM data collection.  The PROMs data collection app I developed for my PhD has been translated into several different European languages (French, German, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and Norwegian).  I have been involved in the cross-cultural translation of the app content, and will be working on further translations in the future.

I first joined Queen Mary in 2013 when it hosted the National Council for Osteopathic Research (NCOR).  I have been senior research officer at NCOR since 2004.  I completed my PhD at QMUL in 2017.  Prior to that I undertook my MSc at QMUL in Healthcare Research Methods in 2005.  I completed a PGCert in Evidence based in Health Care in 2006 at the University of Oxford.
