Dr Harpal Kalsi, PhD, MSc, BScResearch Fellow in Respiratory PhysiologyEmail: h.kalsi@qmul.ac.ukProfileProfileAs a Research Fellow on the CHILL project, I am responsible for obtaining high quality spirometry (lung function) data from a large cohort of primary school aged children across 2 sites. Duties include training and supporting researchers in obtaining test results during school visits, the quality assurance of collected data, carrying out other activities during visits and maintenance of equipment and purchasing for the study. I have worked on this large international collaborative project since 2018 and have been involved in other projects investigating the effect of air pollution on children’s lungs at QMUL. Prior to my current post I held several clinical posts as a respiratory physiologist and currently hold monthly lung function clinics at Nuffield Health. My PhD research, at Imperial College London involved investigating the effects of inhaled medication and lung physiology. I’m also involved in the teaching of respiratory and sleep physiology at Middlesex University, tutoring in respiratory medicine at University of South Wales and am a PBL tutor in biomedical science at QMUL.Research
