I am managing the SURECAN study (www.surecanstudy.qmul.ac.uk) which is a NIHR funded programme of research looking at developing and trialling a talking therapy based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to people living with and beyond cancer to improve their quality of life. I am also interested in using ACT as a framework with spiritual/religious integrated psychotherapy.

Living with and beyond cancer; cancer survivorship; cultural adaptions of psychological therapies; Islamic psychology; complex interventions involving psychological interventions; clinical trials.
Interested in developing a spiritually integrated psychological intervention using ACT as a model, to improve outcomes for Muslims.
