Profile

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Centre for Preventive Neurology, Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London. Currently, I am working in East London Parkinson's Disease Project (ELPD), investigating the prevalence of cognitive impairment in people with Parkinson’s Disease from East London. I am also co-ordinating London-Dhaka Cognition Study (LDCS) from our overseas collaborator from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

I completed my PhD in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Bedfordshire (England) where I investigated the impact of sedentary behaviour on cardiometabolic disease risk markers in South Asians. Beforehand, I completed MSc in Public Health and MBA in Health Services Management from the University of Bedfordshire. I graduated in Food Technology and Nutritional Science from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Bangladesh. 

 

 

 

Research

Research Interests:

My primary research interest is on the impact of sedentary behaviour on different diseases, including Parkinson’s Disease and Cardiometabolic Disease risk markers in diverse population.

The effect of physical activity intervention on cognition and mood in people with Parkinson’s disease.

I am also interested to explore the prevalence of cognitive impairment in people with Parkinson's disease.
