Professor Stamatina Iliodromiti, PhD MRCOG MD MSc MedEd

Profile

I am a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women’s Health Research Unit at Queen Mary. My main research interest is reproductive and perinatal epidemiology, and I have expertise in big data analysis, data linkage, metabolic medicine and reproductive endocrinology. My work has been published in journals such as the Lancet, Plos Medicine, European Heart Journal, BMJ, Human Reproduction Update and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. I work as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, with a special interest in reproductive endocrinology and menopause, at the Royal London Hospital. I am involved with PBL for medical students, and teach and mentor medical and postgraduate students on a regular basis. I am leading on the module of life-course approach in sexual and reproductive health.    

I was awarded my PhD from the University of Glasgow and thereafter awarded a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship by MRC, which facilitated me to hone advanced epidemiological skills. Prior to that, I was awarded an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Masters in Medical Education from the Karolinska Institute. After completion of my training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Glasgow, I moved to London where I was appointed as a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 2018.
