Profile

I gained a BSc degree in Geographical Science from the  University of Portsmouth (1992), and subsequently an MSc. in Environmental Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 1994.

My first job within clinical trials was with Professor Jack Cuzick at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, (ICRF), working on two large scale international chemo-prevention trials in breast cancer (IBIS-I and IBIS-II). This was my first introduction to working on clinical trials and allowed me to experience all aspects of managing a trial.

ICRF later merged with the charity Cancer Research Campaign to form Cancer Research UK, (CR-UK). I moved with Professor Cuzick to QMUL where I worked as a trial manager on various breast and prostate cancer prevention trials, before transferring to King’s College London in 2022 to take up the role of FINESSE Trial Manager within the Cancer Prevention Trials Unit in the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences,  with Professor Peter Sasieni.

I have now returned to QMUL with Professor Sasieni and the rest of the CPTU to continue work on FINESSE, a prostate cancer trial for men with low to intermediate risk disease. I manage and oversee all aspects of the study.
